Xellera Therapeutics joins six other specialist CDMOs to strengthen international manufacturing collaboration and expand patient access to cell and gene therapies.
Xellera Therapeutics Asia Limited (“Xellera”), a Hong Kong-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in cell and gene therapies, is pleased to announce its participation as a founding member of the Alliance of CGT Manufacturing Partners (ACGMP).
Officially launched in conjunction with the Cell & Gene Meeting on the Mesa in Phoenix, Arizona, ACGMP brings together seven independent, specialist CDMOs across Asia, Europe, and Australia. The alliance aims to help cell and gene therapy developers identify suitable manufacturing partners across regions, technologies, and stages of development.
As a founding member representing Hong Kong, Xellera will contribute its expertise in cell therapy process development, GMP manufacturing, and quality control testing. Through the alliance, Xellera aims to strengthen international collaboration, facilitate technology transfer, and support developers seeking manufacturing solutions in Hong Kong and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
The alliance’s collective capabilities span autologous and allogeneic cell therapies, gene therapies, viral vectors, RNA, lipid nanoparticles, plasmid DNA, and apheresis starting materials. ACGMP also plans to develop shared quality and technology transfer resources, including quality agreements, pre-audits, and site visits.
“We are delighted to join ACGMP as a founding member and represent Hong Kong in this international collaboration,” said Dr. Camie Chan, CEO of Xellera Therapeutics. “By connecting specialist manufacturing organizations across different regions, we can help developers navigate the complexities of manufacturing and technology transfer while supporting broader access to innovative cell and gene therapies.”
The seven founding member organizations are Cell Therapies (Melbourne), eXmoor Pharma (UK), Nucelion Therapeutics (Hyderabad), Siam Bioscience (Bangkok), SCTbio (Prague), Teijin REGENT (Tokyo), and Xellera Therapeutics (Hong Kong).
ACGMP welcomes additional specialist CDMOs, including organizations based in the United States and China.
